This Privacy Policy describes how PickyChat ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Conversation data

Your messages and preferences shared during gift recommendation sessions. This includes recipient details, budget, occasion, and product preferences you provide.

Account data

If you create an account: email address, name, and profile picture provided through our authentication provider (Clerk). Account creation is optional.

Anonymous session data

If you use the Service without an account: a randomly generated anonymous token stored in an HTTP-only cookie, linked to your conversation sessions.

Usage data

Page views, feature usage, and interaction patterns collected through analytics tools (see Section 4).

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Generate recommendations: Your conversation is processed by AI models to suggest relevant products.
  • Improve the Service: Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us improve recommendation quality.
  • Session persistence: If signed in, your conversation history is saved for future visits.
  • Shared links: When you create a share link, a summary of your recommendations becomes accessible via that URL.

3. AI Processing

Your conversations are sent to third-party AI providers to generate responses and recommendations:

  • Google (Gemini) — conversational AI responses
